NurseGauge · Nursing Grade Calculator

NurseGauge Support

NurseGauge is a grade calculator for nursing students. You enter your syllabus rules — required course grade, exam average requirement, dosage calculation exam, clinical, skills and competencies, and your program's rounding rule — and it tells you where you stand.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. NurseGauge has no account, no login, and no subscription. You buy it once and that's the end of it.

Where is my data stored?

On your device only. NurseGauge doesn't send your course data anywhere — there's no server behind it. See the privacy policy for detail.

Why won't the app show my standing?

NurseGauge waits for two things before it calculates anything. First, your course rules must be confirmed — finish the syllabus setup and confirm at the end. Until you do, the app deliberately won't show a number, because it would be based on an unfinished picture. Second, your assessment weights must total 100%. If your syllabus divides a course into equal thirds, entering 33.33% three times works; the app accounts for the rounding.

My weights total 100% but the app says they don't.

Check for an assessment with a blank weight, or one entered twice. The screen shows your current total, which usually points straight at the gap.

Why does it say I can't pass?

Because, given the scores entered and the work remaining, the required grade is no longer mathematically reachable. NurseGauge tells you this directly rather than letting you find out at the end of the term. Double-check your entered requirements and scores — and talk to your instructor, who may know about options the arithmetic doesn't.

Why won't it tell me what I need on the final?

If an earlier exam is still ungraded, a target for the final would be wrong, because it would have to assume a score you haven't earned yet. NurseGauge gives you a target for the earliest ungraded exam. Enter that score and the next target appears.

Does NurseGauge calculate medication dosages?

No. "Dosage calculation" here refers to the dosage calculation exam that nursing programs give as a graded requirement, usually with its own passing score and limited attempts. NurseGauge tracks that exam as part of your grade. It is not a clinical tool and gives no medical, diagnostic, or dosing guidance.

Is NurseGauge my official grade?

No. It calculates from what you enter and the rules you tell it. Your program's official grade is whatever your instructor and institution record. Always verify against your syllabus and program handbook.

Can I track more than one course?

Yes. You can run several courses at once, and copy one course's rules into a new course to save re-entering them.
